Beach lake Lodge is part of Barrier Free Recreation, Inc. This organization has been around for over 25 years and has been guided with a single mission and purpose: to make our great state of Alaska accessible to all people. This simple idea has created a campsite where individuals and their families can enjoy Alaska’s natural beauty in an accessible and Barrier Free manner.
Our campsite contains three cabins all connected by a system of ramps and boardwalks. The site is on Beach Lake and has numerous trails. Beach lake Lodge is minutes from Eagle River and 40 minutes from downtown Anchorage, but secluded enough to give you a full experience of Alaska.
By renting a cabin with Barrier Free you not only enjoy a great location for an inexpensive price, but you contribute to the idea that a person’s quality of life should not be dictated by their physical or developmental disability.
We have two small cabins that both sleep four. They are rustic and a great place for a couple or a single traveler to spend some time. As a large group you may want both the large and the small cabins accommodations.
Beach Lake Lodge (The Big One) is our most popular rental. At $200 a night it sleeps 8 and has the accommodations for large gatherings. If you are interested please go to accommodations.
The mission behind Barrier Free (Beach Lake Lodge) is to provide the Alaskan outdoor experience to everyone no matter what their abilities. This is why our facilities have boardwalks, our bathroom is ADA accessible, and why we have teamed with Focus, Inc. to provide a summer camp.
